What Would You Wish For?

If you could be visited by a wish-granting fairy, what would you wish for?

Enough with the peace on earth stuff, nice as that would be. This fairy wants to give you something tangible. Or at least, something that can be bought.

I made a wish in the comments over on a friend's blog and then the Fairy Hobmother came over to my blog and decided to grant my wish.

Well, sort of. I was a little greedy and wished for something huge(if you have heard me whining about my broken dishwasher, you can probably guess what my wish was).

And while this is a generous fairy, the wishes have to be spread around to others. But, the Fairy did give me a $100 gift card to Amazon. Which I will try really hard not to spend all on Kindle books.

But now the Fairy Hobmother is going to visit one of you and grant one of your wishes!

You can wish for something big, you can wish for a gift card like mine, you can wish for something you need like new laundry baskets(hey, whatever floats your boat), or you can even wish for a donation to a special charity.

All you have to do is leave a comment with your wish and the Fairy Hobmother will come visit one of you and grant your wish! If you aren't sure if your profile links back to your blog, be sure to select comment as Name/url for easy finding by the fairy.

The Fairy Hobmother is spreading some cheer and granting wishes this holiday season and also showing us where to find large capacity fridge freezers. She's a multi-tasking fairy.

After you make your wish in your comment below, be sure to head over to my facebook page and find the post from this morning about how you can be included in next week's Things They Can't Say! Going to try something a little different during the holiday weekend and I hope you will join in!

Please note: The Fairy Hobmother visited Jayme from The Random Blogette, so I'm going to close comments on this post. Here's hoping y'all find a little fairy magic this holiday season!

Unless she's able to wave her rockin' wand and help me with this whole stupid unemployed thing I've got going right now or the insomnia that is accompanying it, a gift card to help with Thanksgiving dinner would be nice. Or Sam Elliot. I'm not picky.

I totally wish for world peace, but since I know that is so not going to happen...

I also wish for a new camera strap and camera bag (like a fancy, pretty camera bag so I can fit in with the cool kids)

or a new dishwasher because I am totally in the handwashing dishes club right now and it sucks.

My biggest wish right now would be for a Canon SLR but that may being too greedy. So my second biggest wish would be for some cash to put towards nice boots. This will be the third winter that I do not have nice leather boots for wearing on a GNO or a date or just to feel pretty. Sometimes being low income just sucks :P

Very cool, hmm, what would I wish for.
Maybe a new purse because I have an impossible time spending money on myself so never buy one that I actually really want.

I know this isn't tangible--but I wish for time. More time. More time in each day. More time in the week. Time is like gold to me--I am desperate for it.

If I can't get a gift card for time, I'd take gas cards. I'd love for my sister and nephews to visit me--but she's two hours away and can't afford the gas. I'd love to give it to her so her boys can play with my girls in our yard--like cousins do.

For me, it's actually quite simple. I'd love a gift card to amazon. Whenever I'm asked what I want, on the spot I forget. However, browsing the net I come across tons of things I'd love.
Thanks Shell!
I hope you get all YOU want with your own gift card! :)

I wish for my husband to be home right this minute as it's been almost 2 weeks since he's been away but that's not going to happen.

Does she grant endless patience and sanity to deal with children 3 and under? If not I'll settle for some new clothes. I need some serious retail therapy WITHOUT my kids.

My girls are tickled that there is a fairy that grants wishes for adults! This is so sweet of you to spread that fairy love. How wonderful that she helped you out during your dishwasher crisis!!

If I could ask for anthing tangible, it would be for a gift card for clothes and shoes. It would need to have a letter from the fairy telling me I could only spend it on myself. I (like most moms) tend to leave my needs at the bottom of the list. I would love something new to wear to all of the holiday functions this time of year.

Thank you!!

I would absolutely wish for an Amazon gift card. I've been off work recovering from surgeries since April and have made the unpleasant discovery that just having disability insurance and proof that you can't work doesn't actually mean the disability insurance company will PAY you (silly me). So I'm scrambling and entering giveaways to try to buy my kiddos anything for Christmas.

I wish for the ability to have something to get my kids Christmas with. Helping care for my mom I am now unable to take a job at any time, leaving us just depending on his income. my mom has made some poor financial decisions with her money and been helping us as well, leaving her scraping as well. So now we are helping pay her bills and ours. It is looking not so great for Christmas for the kids. I don't care about me, just want them to have something nice.

Honestly, I thought about wishing for something really big. But my heart is at war...literally. Hubby is deployed for a year, and I really want you to grant my wish and bring him home :( Since I know you can't do that...his internet connection is really bad. My mom generously bought him an iPod touch for xmas but I have nothing (updated iPod, iPhone, iPad, macbook) to be able to connect with him easier using the "face time" feature. So my boys and I get maybe once a week time on skype (which is really sketchy) to talk to him. And the place he is stationed won't let him TVC the birth of our 5th baby- due xmas day. I would love to be able to have something we could use the facetime feature on so he could see his baby...and me...and my 4 other boys. We miss daddy :( (sorry so long)

This is fun! I'd love to do this on my blog (even though I don't have nearly as many followers) because us grown ups rarely get to voice our own selfish wishes around the holidays.

I can't narrow it down to just one, but my wish would be for either a new camera, a nice black purse, a walk-in closet (the 1900s era house I'm in wasn't built with closets!!), a bigger & always magically clean bathroom (boys are gross!), or one of those awesome new Kindle Fire e-readers!

I wonder if I could fool any of my family into thinking this is the boys' Christmas list? I'm kidding!

Thanks for the cool post & congrats on winning the gift card! That'll make the holidays a little bit easier for you.

Selfishly I want a new iphone but realistically I should wish for some funds to pay bills or a gift card to Target or Amazon for Christmas shopping :)

What I want more than anything? To have my house remodeled. Especially the butt-ugly kitchen.

And for my husband to stop talking so much about how much he hates our house.

Closer to reality but still slightly out of reach? An iPad.

I don't think my comment posted.

As a mother it is so hard to put yourself before others and ask for purely selfish tangible things. Most of the time when us mom's wish for things it's for our kids or for practical things (like I consider your dishwasher to be!)

I've ha my eye on a pair of zebra Sanuks on Amazon. I've been saving my $5 Amazon Swagbucks giftcards but only have $10 so far! It will take me a year to save up $60ish worth! Ha! So those are what I wish for :)

It's funny I just wrote a post about how broke my hubby and I are. So my wish wouldn't be for me, but I would wish to have a little bit of money or a gift card right now so that I could get my two children snowsuits. Being selfless makes momma happy! Good luck to whomever wins.

This is amazing.

My big wish isn't one that can be granted by anyone but me and my husband and trust me, we are working on it. It's for another baby... either through yet another round of IVF or naturally, just a healthy baby. Boy or girl, I don't care. Just no more miscarriages. I don't think my heart could take one more.

I'd settle for a gift card of any kind as retail therapy has proven to ease the pain a little.

What a cool idea. I would wish for a style consultation by someone who knows what she's talking about because none of my clothes fit and if I get a new job soon I'm going to have to kick it up a notch. ;)

Well, right now my biggest wish would be for earplugs so I don't have to listen to my kids arguing.

But I'd also settle for a HUGE supply of wine.

I wish we had the extra money for gas and other expenses to go visit my mom in December. She's got two more rounds of chemo to go- one the day before Thanksgiving and one mid-Dec. and I think a visit with the grandkids between them would do her good and get her in the holiday spirit.

Can I wish for a night with a few bottles of wine, and a fireplace, and whatever that might lead to . . . and a morning that I can get up when I'd like?

Is that too difficult to deliver?

I would wish for financial stability but I know that's not an overnight fix unless I win the lotto.

But today I would wish for some extra $$ to purchase my daughter some "Babby Babble & Signing Time" videos to help her along in hopes that one day she may be able to communicate with us verbally.

Hmmm, right now the fun thing on my wish list is a Zumba or Just Dance game for the Wii. I keep telling myself that if I have one of these I will use them to exercise with....we'll see what happens if my wish ever does come true.

My other wish is to magically loose this 50 pounds I need to get rid of. It was be so awesome if your fairy could take care of that one for me! ;)

I would also like a clothes shopping spree...I'll even take a spree at the Goodwill these days.

I sure hope your fairy comes my way! :)

It's a wish I know probably won't be granted, but hell, I'd take any amount on a Disney gift card!!! Pretty please, fairy... aren't you friends with tinkerbell?!

This holiday? I would wish to have the money to get into our own place by little man's first Christmas. We just moved last minute out of state to where we could get jobs and are in between homes staying with family. While I'm grateful that we got jobs so quickly, the fact that we only have two checks before Christmas means we can't afford a deposit and/or Christmas.

Dear Wish Fairy...
I'm going to be totally selfish right now.
I wish I was at home (and not in this hospital room.)
I wish I had a massage. Not one of those $15 back rubs that you get from some cheap place... but - like a day at the spa. I would so shave my legs for that -
and there you go... then my husband would have his wish of being married to a girl again. Because right now... the legs are not that pretty.

See you later,

Oh how fun!

I wish for a new food processor. Mine is broken and my husband super glued it back together for me. It works, sort of.

A new one would be awesome, but with the holidays and a foundation repair to pay for (yeah, fun eh?) I've not got it in my budget to buy a replacement right now.

I'm not much of one to make too many wishes, but within the last couple of weeks, homelessness has been brought to my attention, and I guess my true wish, on the week of Thanksgiving is a donation made to A Homelessness organization to help feed those that have to fend for their food and shelter on a daily basis.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Or a nice winter coat. Since its getting cold--and I dont have one.
