Back-to-School Shopping at Marshalls and T.J.Maxx

It's time for back-to-school shopping! If you are looking to score great deals on current styles and name-brand fashions, I highly recommend checking out T.J.Maxx and Marshalls.

At T.J.Maxx and Marshalls, parents can find everything on their shopping lists, including plaid tunics, updated denim, backpacks and even school supply sets

I was provided $50 in gift cards to shop and tell you about my experience. I jumped at the chance to do this, as I already love both stores AND my oldest needs clothes for kindergarten: a new school year plus a growth spurt equaled almost no clothes that fit him hanging in his closet!

We shopped at Marshalls simply because it is closer to us and we found a lot there. This was the first time that I really let my son pick out his own clothes. I thought I'd let him take the lead and see what he came up with!

Though, I have to admit that it was hard not to be distracted by the cute clothes I saw for me or the fun things I saw for around the house. I had to keep reminding myself that we were there for school shopping!

How funny that Daddy's taste apparently got passed down, since almost all the clothes that my son picked out were Polo or Tommy Hilfiger. Take a look at the great deals we found! Video below: if not appearing, please refresh page.

Polo shirts: $9.99-$12.99
Toy Story and Ecko shirts: $7.99
3 pack character underwear: $4.99
3 pack character socks: $2.99
3 piece Spiderman outfit: clearance-priced $7

How do T.J.Maxx and Marshalls provide shoppers with such incredible savings? With more than 900 stores across the country, there is a great deal of buying power behind both chains that allows a lot of flexibility in negotiating prices. T.J.Maxx and Marshalls buyers also buy merchandise closer to the time it is needed in stores, which opens up opportunities to score great deals on current season styles.  They are able to offer amazing fashions from department and mall store brands at excellent value.

I will definitely be doing more shopping at Marshalls! And recommend that you check them out, too!

*I received $50 in gift cards to shop at Marshalls. All opinions are my own. I loved Marshalls before doing this review!

I have to admit, I have never shopped either place. I am guilty of shopping at Sears for my boys for BTS. Why? My boys constantly get holes in their pants. Sears offers a kidvantage program, and they replace the anything that gets holes or falls apart. It has worked out great for me. Because we can exchange the clothes for replacements, my kids make it an entire year on BTS shopping. They do this for shoes too, but my older boys wear mens shoes and they don't count :(

I love the shirts he picked out. He is going to be handsome.

I used to love shopping at those stores. I haven't in a while because they're no longer close to me.

I love the video!

I can't do either Marshalls or TJMax because I simply hate to search for things. I always feel like I am going through a garage sale when I go in those stores. I like order and cleanliness. But I have a lot of friends who like these as you do. I love the polos! Looks sharp.

TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Ross are my favorite places to shop!! I LOVE to bargain shop, and I love knowing that my kids are wearing the same name brands that some of my snooty friends paid WAY more money for. Yeah, I'm sweet like that. And...HOW COOL ARE YOU with you're too cute video?! Love it! And your son is just too cute!

Lucky you! I love both TJ Maxx and Marshalls, both for myself, and for my kids. Can't beat the prices for name brands! Because I have small feet, I can sometimes score major deals on clearance shoes. I once bought a pair of tall leather boots there for under $10, that I'm still wearing, years later.

I have to be in the mood to shop Marshall's or TJ Maxx. Some days I'm just not willing to deal with picked over merchandise that is out of date to begin with. Other days it's okay because I hit it soon after a new delivery so there are more and better choices. It's purely hit or miss. I always have to remind myself that "it's" not a bargain if it doesn't ever get worn! :)

I LOVE them both! I especially love to buy shoes there because they have lots of the "big" size- 10! Haha! Why go and buy clothes full price at the dept store when you can get equally as cute stuff at half the cost? Glad you found some good stuff!

We don't have a Marshalls here, but we do have a TJMaxx, which I love. I have a tough time shopping there (it's overwhelming sometimes), but when I am patient, I usually end up with a gem or three! :)
