Hey, it's okay...

Whispering Writer at Airing My Dirty Laundry One Sock at a Time got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. She does this every Tuesday and invites others to do it, too.  No linky or button, just a shared idea. I thought I'd join in, post-it note style, of course.

It's also okay to vote for me in the Not Mom of the Year contest! PLEASE vote for me HERE. One vote per day.

I am guilty of the duct tape on the diaper. Forget nakedness...I don't want the mess. :-)

I don't like talking to my hairdresser. Heck, if I'm splurging on getting my hair done, I want to enjoy my moment away from mommyhood.

And Happy Meal toys? Yeah...they're gone as soon as I can sneak them out the door.

I've said the phrase, "we should not be watching True Blood, it's so bad!" so many times that my 5-year-old told me tonight: "Mommy, don't watch any True Blood tonight. It's so bad."

And I once had my longest stint with the same hair dresser just because she didn't talk. She tried to be a mortician but couldn't handle the sad death part. She ended up being just a quiet salon employee. I really liked that. Plus my hair was to die for.

Get it? Cause she was a mortician. It's okay to crack yourself up.

Oh My Goodness Shell! Those were great! I snorted at the *You want a piece of me?* one and felt your pain over the Blackberry (once I figured out that we were not discussing fruit)!

hahaha, wonderful! so true! especially the hairdressers ... I get so flustered sometimes because I don't want to talk, just sit and be quiet :-)

A silent hair dresser - yes, pretty please!!!

I would love to read a book - rude? Even if I promise to hold my head still?

I always cry during the getting ready for the wedding scene with Donna and Sophie. For some reason, the Dancin' Queen scene always chokes me up as well.

I used to put my daughter's diapers on backwards and use diaper pins to fasten them, plus put her feetless jammies on backwards so she couldn't unzip them to get to her diaper. Madness!

Love it!! I just did the McD's toy thing tonight and now I DO NOT feel guilty. Thanks!
And those cookies are work, hello. You have to place them on the cookie sheet and get up from the recliner when the timer goes off and then use a spatula to remove them from said cookie sheet. Yeesh. LOL

We totally did the duct tape thing. As long as you just tape the diaper and not their skin, no abuse. So we took the diaper from the front and wrapped it around to the back so she couldn't get it off. Worked like a charm. But when it came time to change a diaper, we ended up ripping the diaper to get it off. Duct tape sticks really well.

Good luck.
