EcoStore USA Review

I was recently sent some products from ecostore USA in exchange for my honest review. Honesty you are going to get.

From their website: "Our eco friendly, plant-based household cleaning products are as effective as the leading supermarket brands, and our body and baby care ranges are gentle on your skin and are simply beautiful to use. All of our products are made from plant- and mineral-based ingredients, free of toxic chemicals that bring people closer to nature with non-toxic, environmentally safe solutions that also help to reduce our carbon footprint."

First, I tried their Baby Body Wash on my boys. ecostore USA's baby care line is created using only the best plant-based ingredients and essential oils to gently soothe, nourish and protect baby’s sensitive skin.  I saw the phrase "exceptionally mild" and thought this would be a good one to try. While I also have a 5 and a 2 year-old, it is my 4 year-old who has exceptionally sensitive skin.

Unfortunately, my middle son ended up with a rash all over his body after using this wash. I emailed my contact with my concerns and she responded...and then so did the Vice President of Operations. They let me know that my son is one-in-a-million because approximately one in a million people have reactions to the essential oils such as lavender that are used in their products.

I did some googling around and found lots of positives on this product and no mention of anyone else with a reaction like this. My other two boys didn't have a reaction to it and I like using it for me. So, I do think that in general, it is a good product- my middle son just happens to be that rare exception.

The second product I tried was their all-purpose cleaner. I do get a little freaked out thinking about using harsh chemical cleaners all over the house. Whether it's the kitchen where I'm cleaning the counters and then would put food and I wonder how much of those chemicals are getting into my boys' food or really cleaning anywhere in the house that my boys could touch and then later put their hands near their mouths. It's a concern.

So, products such as those from ecostore USA with their "no nasty chemicals" tagline appeal to me. Though, I did not have much luck in having this product get out tough stains or clean up the big messes that my children seem to leave behind. So, what I've been using it for is when I just need to do a basic wipe down.

If you are looking to try products that contain "no nasty chemicals," you might want to give ecostore USA a try. They offer free shipping on orders over $25 and can be found at Meijer and Duane Reade stores.

I was sent these products in exchange for my honest review. ecostore USA was aware of my opinions before I published this review. They pride themselves on listening to their consumers and want to hear honest opinions on their products, as they are aware that they don't work the same for everyone. I have a lot of respect for their company because of this.

Oh no! I got that body wash, too. I added it to my daughter's bath and it was fine, but woah that this happened to you! I need to get my review up, I actually have it scheduled. I did use their laundry detergent and LOVE it.

SO sorry this happened to your lil one!

I also think it's awesome that they wanted you to post this even though you didn't have 100% positive things to say!

If you'd like, I have a all natural all purpose cleaner recipe I can give you...and it kicks ass!

I've not tried these products, but I hear you on the "One in a million" kid. My oldest is like that - we have to be super careful with laundry detergent, sunscreen, soap, etc because he breaks out in an itchy rash from EVERYTHING.
I love that they responded quickly to your concerns, it's nice when a company truly cares about the experiences of their consumers.

Natalie makes a good point; it's great that the company (and you) are open about the real-life results of the product :)

I've tried these products myself, and had pretty much the same opinion. In fact, simple vinegar and water--or vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and water when you need a bit of disinfecting--works better for me than the ecostore products. I've also had really great results with BabyGanics.

I do think a lot of the company that they wanted you to post your honest review, even if it isn't "glowing." I also think a lot of you, too--you've got great integrity!

Great post Shell. Sorry your 4-yo suffered (I hope the rash healed quickly).

This sounds like an extremely consumer-friendly company. That alone makes them worth a look in my book.

Good for you for being honest, and good for them for wanting you to publish it anyway!

While I was reading the quote from their website (before the rest of your article), I saw, "All of our products are made from plant- and mineral-based ingredients..."

I thought to myself, what about the few people out there that have plant allergies????

Then I read your results. Poor kid. Hate allergic reactions, they are annoying.

Aww, I'm sorry you had this experience! I worked with this company in the past and they were definitely very consumer-friendly- however, I only tried household products, none of the skin stuff, so I did not have a bad experience. I'm so glad they were still wanting this published, that reflects wonderfully on their company. And you are an amazing reviewer :)

I use that cleaner spray and love it. I agree it doesn't get out a hard to get out stain from a white counter top...but if you leave it sit a bit osmetimes you get better luck. I just love that there is no chemical smell. I got out a bottle of 409 the other day to do something and was grossed out by the smell that spread through out the entire house. Funny how when you are used to the non-chemical the chemical then is that much more potent.

I LOVE Mrs. Meyer's brand cleaning products. Wonderful. I would do ecostores if it was handier...but ordering online is a pain and I think it was $9 for the bottle..which is pretty good considering but still more than method and other less chemical brands.

Great review!

I agree with you and the others - it says a lot about a company when they actually care about what consumers think. My youngest has super sensitive skin/eczema to go along with his food allergies, so I can relate!

I'm sorry you had a bad reaction like that! I didn't try the first one, but I've tried the all-purpose spray and I thought it was decent.
