Allergies? Congestion? You want to win this one!

I often feel like I can't breathe when my allergies get bad.

Usually, I just make everyone around me miserable suffer through it.  Mostly because I hate taking medicine but also because I hate to spend the money on something unless I know that it's going to work.

Friends of mine have sworn by their neti pots when they are congested. I don't know...that thing sort of freaks me out. What a mess, I thought.

Then, I was sent the OCEAN Complete® Sinus Irrigation system to try. It is similar to the action of a neti pot without the mess.  It provides natural, positive pressure sinus irrigation and/or soothing nasal moisturizing in a non-medicated nasal spray with no drug side effects.

OCEAN Complete®($14.99) is a two-in-one product that allows you to irrigate and moisturize nasal passages simply by changing the actuator tips.

I only tried the irrigation so far, as that was my need.  It was very easy to use- especially when I added the nasal adapter, which helps to place it the correct depth into your nose(you know me- I'm a bit of a klutz and didn't want to end up shoving this too far up there and damaging something).

My verdict: I can breathe again!!!

OCEAN Complete® Sinus Irrigation provides soothing relief for a variety of needs: allergies, congestion, moisturizing for dry environments, dry nose, nose bleeds, and more.

I just included my allergies in my last Friday Flip Offs post ;)

I am one of those people that swears by my neti pot! I love that thing because it instantly makes my nose feel better.

However...if this does the same thing without the mess? Well, I need to try it for sure!

This has been my worst year with allergies and today I woke up with all the great things that go along with them

I love my Neti pot but it's not real convenient to bring to work - this looks like it would be the perfect thing to keep there. Sometimes Dorkalicious here will end up with the front of her shirt wet if I'm not careful how I lean over the sink when I use the Neti.

Hmmm, I struggle with allergies and have been scared of the neti pot. I think I would actually try this!

I either use Afrin nasal spray or over the counter medication. This sounds like something I'd try. :)

I have allergies but I've got them under control for the most part with medication I hate. I supplement with herbs which is a blessing.

My husband has such chronic sinus problems, he has to use saline spray twice a day to avoid further surgeries.

The neti pot is great but he can't figure it out. He'd try this though.

Good, I was hoping a few people entered throughout the day :

Currently, I am using store brand claritin and generic flonase. I hate the flonase, the "fragrance" sux

For this round of allergies, I am drinking water and taking mucinex religiously. I just started the mucinex though. I usually take benadryl allergy & sinus. However, when I graduate, I'm moving back to Colorado where my allergies were more easily controlled!!!

Allergies? Oh yeah. Year-round allergies. I've become addicted to my Zyrtec-D and even still have to occasionally pop the Bene's and some type of Sinus Congestion pill. Especially now that it is Yellow Fly Season on the OBX and I am allergic to them. Which equates to all kinds of fun things.

I've thought about the Neti Pot, the Youth Minister says it is the best ever, but ick. That just looks gross and messy. So, nice and clean would work for me.

I use Alavert. Or Claratin. Or really, whatever box I grab first. None of them really work for me anyway. I didn't have any allergy issues until I moved to NC 9 years ago, and this year it wasn't bad, until I started telling people it wasn't bad. Stupid jinx.

Oh, and Vicks or someone used to make these great vaporub tablets that you put on the shower floor and then then steam from your shower released it and you could berathe. But I can't find them anywhere anymore. Stupid Vicks.
