It's Either Her or Me Review and Giveaway

It's Either Her or Me: A Guide to Help a Mom and Her Daughter-in-Law Get Along by Ellie Slott Fisher is a book whose title caught my eye. Random House provided me with a copy to read.

Most of you already know that my mil and I get along really well. I'll talk to her on the phone and do things with her and my boys, without Hubs, and enjoy it.

That wasn't always the case, though, so don't be too jealous. I could tell you stories, but I need to get back to the review.

This book gives helpful suggestions for all involved: the mother-in-law, the wife, AND the husband. No, he isn't allowed to bury his head in the sand and let you two fight it out.

Though my time of being a mother-in-law is far off, I need to keep this book around for when it is my turn! Whether you are the mother-in-law or you want some suggestions for dealing with yours, this is a helpful book!

You can buy a copy through Amazon or WIN ONE HERE!

I want this book for me! My MIL is nuts. She makes me feel awkward around my husband, and according to her drunk husband her and her daughter don't like me. I've tried to strike up conversations with her, but she is so distant. She didn't even come to my bridal shower. If the woman wasn't so needy it would be different but I just can't deal with the nut calling her son wanting money or for him to run her errands.

I totally need this book haha.

I'd keep it for me then pass along to my MIL.

I already told you the other day about my MIL is the beach...

maybe, just maybe there is something to help!

I had THE BEST MIL in my 1st marriage and if she were still living today, I wholeheartedly know she would be a part of my life...still even though I'm no longer married to her son. I have tried and tried and tried with my fiance's mom...I hold out hope that something will connect one day. For G. He deserves that.

(I'm still totally weepy from your Ethan/Christian post, so I'm super sappy.)

I wonder if this will work for a step mother in law? My hubby's mom and I get along pretty well considering the rocky relationship she and I used to have. but dealing with his step mom, she's another story.
This book might help me with her.

One month into my marriage, I have a pretty good relationship with my MIL but that is sometimes because I avoid conflict by no always sharing my TRUE feelings. I know all too well that at somepoint I will erupt which will not be pretty ;)

I want it for me. I hope that someday soon my son will marry his best girl and even if he doesn't they do live together, bought a condo last year so I think I would like to read it. I have no issues with his girl and since I have never lived in the same state with my MIL we haven't had issues!

Um, I need this book for ME!!!
We live in a house that our in-laws own. We thought it was an AMAZING BLESSING that they were going to let us live in this house with our new baby FOR FREE - but we soon learned that nothing is free. They make our lives miserable and nothing we do is good enough. I can not even get in to all of it right here. Oh, did I mention that they come and stay here EVERY OTHER WEEK!!!! It is really difficult on our marriage and my sanity and self-esteem. I could use any help I can get! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! (as bangs head against the wall)

I would want to win this book for me. I've spent 5 years in panic everytime I have to intereact with my MIL; she has "no one's ever good enough for my sone syndrome". I thought getting married would seal the deal for her, instead she's put her claws more in him! Hubby is non-confrontational, and doesn't so much bury his head in the sand as much as he run's like hell! Please help!
