PMS-Inspired Friday Fragments

I'm bloated and cranky, craving chocolate, and feeling random. So, I figured it was about time that I joined in for Friday Fragments, so that I could be random and have an excuse for it.

Mommy's Idea

I couldn't find Bear's shoes when it was time to leave for preschool yesterday morning, so I sat on the steps and cried.

****

We were 10 minutes late to preschool and when we walked, the teachers drew in this big breath- I got all defensive, thinking that it was the first time that we'd been late, but it was because the teachers were noticing my boys' haircuts.

****

Note to hairdressers: if you aren't comfortable cutting a 3 year-old's hair, could you please speak up? You cut Bear's bangs too short for him to be able to keep his adorable long hair. He sports a short of Zach and Cody sort of look, but I wanted him to be able to see. Once the bangs were up there, though, we had to go for an all over shorter look or he would have looked like he had a mullet.

****

I envy you if you don't know who Zach and Cody are.

****

Bear's preschool teacher has been out sick since the beginning of December. So, Bear only had her twice. She might be coming back soon, but I'm really hoping that she stays out and rests and lets Bear continue to have the teacher that he has now because she is amazing with him and he's made such progress. I'm sure that she's great, too, but I'd rather not have him have to deal with any more change.

****

I never worry about Monkey in school because he's a smart cookie. I felt like the worst parent in the world when his teacher told me that he was rotten last week. Well, she didn't use that word, but it was implied. I'm constantly checking on Bear's progress, but just assume everything is fine with Monkey unless I'm told otherwise. Mom fail.

****

I had to drive into the town where Hubs works the other day and on the drive home, I was thinking how much the commute was awful and that I don't like doing it. And yet, by insisting that we stay in the district we're in now, Hubs will have that commute forever. Makes me feel like a bad wife.

****

But, I love that district, so we're not moving. Good thing Hubs is okay with the commute.

****

I also drove through the area that that "Live Traffic Feed" thingamabob says that I live whenever I go to one of your blogs that has that on it. It drives me nuts because it's almost a half hour from here and not where I really live. It is where my mil lives, though.

****

Then, I think it's probably a good thing because it's a little creepy if where I really live would show up, since there are crazy stalkers out there and ya never know.

****

I'm not a crazy stalker, but I act like a crazy person when I have pms. I need chocolate. And french fries. And Chinese food.

****

Best brownies ever(if you like gooey ones, not cake ones, and really who doesn't think the gooey ones are better?): Ditch the Box and Never Look Back Brownies

****

There's a chocolate festival near here this weekend. I am GOING.

****

I ♥ Pamprin. It kicks Midol's ass.

****

Wine is helpful, too.

****

Cheers!

I hear ya with the pms. It is 6:30 am and I have already cried about something dumb to my husband already! I might have to get myself some Pamprin...never tried it before. Good luck getting through this fabulous Friday - that is what I am telling myself ...it is going to be fabulous and I am going to be patient and kind ALL day.

You are not alone today. I am feeling pretty much the same way, 'cept I'm craving potato chips and french onion dip with a big chocolate bar on the side.
I can't stand how PMS makes even the little things feel like huge mistakes. (Mom fail, bad wife). It'll be over soon...ugh! Hang in there!

Wine IS helpful! And I had a couple of glasses last nite, 'cause we have no school today, AGAIN! Expecting the storm of the century, or something. Wish me luck! Love your Friday Frags, btw...

Wine? Chocolate? You've sooooo got my attention!!

Teagan's regular teacher- who she had the first part of the school year- has been on maternity leave since the end of last year. I also harbor this secret desire that she decides to maybe just stay home (this is her... 5th baby, I think... and she had just come back to teaching after being a SAHM for 5 years until all kids wer ein school)... because I ADORE the "sub." It's a teaching team- the lead teacher is fantastic and the assistant is a young woman from South Africa and I love when she talks about her home.

No mom fails!! Girl, please!

PMS just causes so many problems. I hate it! I need to convince my husband that his commute could be worse. I really don't want to leave our district either.

Just kidding...please include me with the chocolate and wine party...infact large quantities of EITHER ONE would be fine with me. I'm not too hard to please....

I'm preganant now and I feel like I have constant PMS lately. I ripped apart my husband yesterday for not taking the garbage out when I asked and it led to me crying and and throwing a complete tamtrum. Thank goodness he's a laid back kind of guy and just keeps quiet when I'm like that. lol

I'm with you girl- i was literally pacing around the itchen last night when i realized we had not one chocolate thing in the hosue! i had to make do with some pilsbury cinnamon rolls, close but no bananas.

you have a chocolate festival near you?!! Oh I'm dreaming of it!

And my traffic feed is off by about 20 minutes too. So weird, but like you said, kind of good too. ;)

Wine definitely helps EVERYTHING!! And chocolate too. And french fries. And the huge mexican meal that I'm going to indulge in tonight since we have the babysitter for the first time in MONTHS.

While I would love to empathize, I am still enjoying the lack of my Aunt Flo from nursing. But, now that I just typed that I'm sure I'll get it back next week. Awesome.

Hope you feel better. (And it is OK to sit on the stairs and cry. I had a good cry myself yesterday!)

Sitting on the steps and crying is one of the best therapies in the world! Sorry about the haircut. That must have hurt. You know what hurts more? I have a son who always asks for a mullet - and we let him... We're trying to think of it as retro.

Hey, stopping by from Friday Follow. I just read your post below about how to handle your child's teacher and it was excellent! Thanks for the advice. I've bookmarked it for the future!!

For the life of me, I can't understand why hairdressers can't follow directions and cut your child's hair like you ask them to. We have tried so many hairdressers... I've even taken my boys to my salon and paid $60 for them to get their hair cut. We finally found someone that mostly follows directions. She still gets a little cut happy on the bangs, but not as bad as some of the others.

chocolate, french fries and Chinese food.
