Down the Aisle and the Hot Seat

Let's play distract Shell from thinking about her middle son's first day of kindergarten day.

Bright and shiny distract her. Oh yes, here we go....

My friend Natalie over at Mommy of a Monster is doing a fun link up this week, asking her readers to share a favorite wedding pic.

You can see some of the pics from our wedding day.  But, some of my faves came from the photo shoot that we did several months after our wedding. I put on my dress again, though I left my hair down unlike on our wedding day. Hubs put on his tux. We grabbed a bottle of champagne and went to the beach.

We just played around and were silly together. It was such a blast!

Hmmm, I wonder if I could get into my dress now. Maybe I'll try that to further distract myself today.

Share your favorite wedding pics with Natalie all this week!

Also: I'm in the Hot Seat this week at Four Plus an Angel. First watch the hilarious vlog where my friend Tracy talks about why she hates flip flops(my footwear of choice) and then you can ask me anything in a comment over there and I'll answer when it's my turn to take the Hot Seat on Monday.

Y'all? My Bear is a kindergartener. So no, I can't really focus on anything else today, but I promise to be back tomorrow with a fabulous BFF whose perfect timing of her post made me tear up.

{{{HUGS}}} Mama! It will be okay, but I understand your nerves.

Great photo! I know I'd fit into mine, but I don't care to put it on again, KWIM? :)

I'm with you on the flip flops... up in arms in our neck of the woods because the Superintendent said teachers shouldn't wear them... I agree and I don't wear them to work, but I don't take kindly to someone telling me I can't!

What a great idea for wedding shots. I wish we had done something like that since we didn't have a great experience with our wedding photographer.
Can't wait to see your Hot Seat answers!

So you got Bear's school all figured out? Feel free not to answer that if it makes you want to cry. I completely understand. Have a mid-day glass of wine. Or maybe a mimosa this morning?? ;-)

I am right there with you today. I just put Pierce on the bus for the first time ever. I'm going to be so nervous for him all day! I can hardly stand the wait until 3:30 when he gets home and I get to hear all about it.

So here's to wishing Bear and Pierce most excellent first days of school!!

What a beautiful photo, and such a cool idea to take a few casual one after the big day. I love that.

My oldest starts on Tuesday and I am a big ball of mixed emotions. I know I will cry, but I know he is ready and life will be much happier around here with him engaged in school instead of torturing his younger brother and me. :)

Online shopping or a house project are my two new distraction techniques. Good luck!

Beautiful photo. When I was registering my kids for kindergarten (in the last century), the principal said he could always tell which child was being registered. If it was the first child, the parents were crying. If it was the last child, the parents were throwing confetti!

yes, I am late to the party because I am just so far behind. I hope his big day was a huge success.

I love your post wedding day photo. Over the years I've come to the realization that relaxed and happy is the way to go for a wedding. I've been to some spectacular, fancy weddings and I've been to some elegantly simple and beautiful weddings and I honestly think the more laid back, the happier the bride's day is.

I had 300 guests at my wedding. (I have a huge family.) I spent way too much time worrying over spending time with those guests at the reception.

I keep telling my girls this, hopefully they'll opt for the laid back way of things. Oh, and by the way, there is no WAY I'm fitting into my wedding dress with its 22 inch waist...unless I starve myself for the next year.
