Busy Body Book: Organization Help for Moms! Giveaway

As the school year was getting closer, I started to realize all that my family was going to have going on. And that it was going to be up to me to keep it all straight and get everywhere where they needed to be, when they needed to be there, and with what they needed to have.

  • 3 boys in 3 different school with 3 different schedules, 3 different lunch/snack issues... field trips, special days, etc
  • weekly speech therapy
  • weekly OT
  • 2 different soccer teams
  • storytime
  • Karate, gymnastics, Boy Scouts (things my boys are trying to talk me into)
  • random stuff they want/need to do(b/c that covers anything I'm leaving out)
Plus making sure that I have time to grocery shop, blog, and get myself to the gym. I knew I couldn't keep it all straight without some sort of organizer. So, I asked twitter because twitter knows all for some suggestions for planners.

I received a few different responses and looked at all of them. Not only did I need something that would help me stay organized, but I almost needed something that fit my budget.  My friend Melissa from Peanut Butter in My Hair had suggested a BusyBodyBook, a personal and family grid organizer. It seemed to have all I needed AND be reasonably priced (products range from $12.95-17.95).

Oops, I guess I better take my son's birth certificate out of the pocket now that I've shown it to his school. Just noticed that in this pic.

I was planning to order one the next day. But before I could, Joan, the publisher of BusyBodyBook Organizers, contacted me and we talked a little about what scheduling/organization challenges my family had. She offered to send me any one of their products to try out.

I selected the Academic AUG 11 - AUG 12 BusyBodyBook Personal & Family Organizer in Cherry so that I could start using it right away.

You decide if you want to assign each column to a person or to a specific area like "Dinner" or "Blogging" or "Workouts." I love that it's customizable and that there is plenty of room to write in plans for different people/topics.

This week, only one of my children had school and soccer, so it wasn't quite as frantic as it's going to get, but I still had quite a bit to keep track of- including reminding myself that I needed to post this review and giveaway! Once school is in full swing, our schedule will be even busier.

I'm extremely happy with my BusyBodyBook. Thanks, Joan! And thanks to Melissa for suggesting them!

You can download free BBB Weekly Grids to try them out for yourself. Show them a little love and Like them on facebook, too!

I could definitely use one of those!! I am having serious trouble with organization lately...I just moved back to New York and I start law school on Monday!! That's enough reason to panic in itself, but I also have to balance dinners, groceries [we don't have a car so it's a lot more difficult than you'd imagine], boyfriend time, CASA [I volunteer], blogging, Russian [I am learning the language], cleaning the house & craft time. I'm sure there's more I can't even think of at the moment! My current planner is always crammed full and I run out of space!! I would love to win :) And I've been a follower :)

Wow, this thing is awesome. I used to use a Franklin planner for home and a planner I created myself for teaching. Then I started doing virtual calendars on my computer so I could sync my home and work life, but there is that old-fashioned girl in me that still loves pencil and paper.

This is the first year since my older son was born that he and his brother will both be in two separate schools with separate schedules AND I'm going back to teaching one day a week! I have a sense that I'm going to need a planner of some kind that will sort this all out. Perhaps this BusyBodyBook will be just the ticket!

I have 2 girls, both in dance, 1 also in soccer. I am working towards a master degree and work full time. I need to be able to plan outings and keep up with the schedule as well as schedule time to keep up with my large "outer" family. Thanks for this post! Oh, I need this. I've realized that I'm in desperate need of an organizational system ever since I missed one doctor's appointment earlier this summer and was then an hour late for another one after jotting down the wrong time, probably on a scarp of paper. I buy a planner every January, but it never makes it past February because it inevitably fails to actually keep me organized. I need something comprehensive. Like this!

I need organization in my life in the worst way. I have three different stages of boyhood in my house 8,5,1. The older two play sports, the baby and I will be in a mommy and me class. I'm new to blogging and REALLY need to start out organized or I fear it will fall through the cracks.

Oh and did I tell you that I have been asked to be on the Parents Board at the preschool.

So yes...organization PLEASE!

I love being organized and fell by the wayside this past year. But now with Miss K in school and Little E in preschool my schedule is overloaded. Not to mention keeping track of Miss K's dance classes three days a week, plus my SAC & PTA meetings, midweek church functions and doctors appointments. Yikes! I am just overwhelmed reading my own list.
I like to put pen to paper and my iPhone calendar just doesn't cut keeping me organized!

Well, I was going to tell you how super unorganized I am. After 2 kids 15 months apart...My oldest is 4 and I'm just getting the hang of it. Both in preschool with countless activities and I'm my daughters room parent. As well as a board member for a Childrens Museum that we are hoping to open in the next three years. We just need some financial support. Looks like I just told you anyway. Well, I would love to WIN a BBB but it looks like some other mothers could use it more than me. I really just want to thank you for sharing this organizational Amazement...I will be purchasing one anyway!

I have two calendars and it is hard to juggle both without rewriting information. I need a much simpler system and this looks like a great answer to my problem.

Oh gosh! I'd love to win this! I'm an organization freak! My oldest just started Kindergarten and I'm now a Room Mom, plus I work, plus I have to get to the gym, plan playdates for my 1 yr old, blog, see friends from time to time and this organizer would just be great for keeping track of all of that! Hope I win. I'm now a follower as well, so that's 2 entries, plus headed to Twitter right now to become a follower (3 entries). you can follow me @morgalicious483 on Twitter. www.momma-licious.blogspot.com

Oh my gosh... this looks great! I have one son in middle school who made the middle school soccer team- they don't tell you school sports are even more scheduling/demanding than others! Then I have a daughter involved in girl scouts and my own life. I could use these!

That looks awesome! I have tried all sorts of planners, technology, and so forth, and I can't find anything that helps me keep it all in one place. We also have therapy appts. out the wazzoo, HS group activities, PE, Piano, Bible Study Group, Yoga, my own sanity breaks, homeschooling a 13 yr. old and a 7 yr. old, blah blah blah...Need I say more? I love the columns that can be assigned to each child!

Oh and the mandatory entry.
My husband and I work opposite schedules and now that my oldest is starting kindergarten there are going to be *gasp* expectations and deadlines and paperwork.

and not to mention that I have my own paperwork for my school and I am NEVER on top of that (maybe because of the black hole that is my desk and my mommy brain).

So. there you have it. :)

why do i need help getting organized? hmmm... well... because i'm disabled and 'involved' with several.. SEVERAL.. state agencies... and each of them has different renewal requirements, on different schedules with different information and different lists of acceptable documentation. in effect, i've got roughly two 'audits' to perform each month... i can DEFINITELY use some help keeping it organized!

I have a planner that I use, but I always need another for my bag.
It sounds dumb, but I actually have to write down what leg I give my injection in every week. I know, who forgets that? But I have to rotate and there are times I forget so I have to go look it up.
