Birthday Wishes

Remember when you were a little kid and would come up with all sorts of crazy things that you wanted for your birthday?

Every shiny thing that caught your eye on a commercial or in the toy store. Or maybe something your friends had.

A list made with the innocence of a child, without realizing that all that stuff cost money and that you couldn't possibly be given every single thing you wanted.  You still had  a list and opened up your birthday gifts with excitement, hope, and expectation.
My second birthday

Well, today is my birthday. I'm 34 today. Yeah, I'm proud of my age and have no problem saying exactly how old I am.  Though you can feel free to say that I don't look my age.

I'm going to suspend reality here for a few minutes to talk about what I'd like for my birthday: as if the Birthday Fairy were real.  And like those lists from childhood, it's going to be okay for it to be completely unrealistic and selfish and impractical not say things like "world peace" or "my boys' tuition."

So Birthday Fairy, please bring me:

*A new wardrobe.  Age-appropriate and mom-appropriate, but still fun. And bonus if it all pulls in my mommy-tummy and can make me look like I have boobs. Plus, it all must come with coordinating shoes and accessories. Because it would be nice if I finally had some sort of style at this point in life.

*An iPad. Because yes, I'm jealous of my friends who have them. Plus, my 6y/o told me if have one, I could change the channel from it and not be stuck watching what Hubs wants to- he thinks that's pretty cool- and I do, too.

*A plane ticket so I can go to Blogher.

*A golf cart. People tool around in these in my neighborhood.  They look like fun and I want one. Preferably in pink

*A beach house.  Sort of like I wanted Barbie's Dream House when I was a kid.  Only big enough to actually live in.

See, it's not a whole lot I'm asking for, is it?

Such fun to pretend like any of these things would be gift wrapped for me today. Are you listening, Birthday Fairy?

Fairies aside, I'm hoping for a pair of sunglasses to replace the ones that I my kids yes, I blame my kids even when it's my fault broke a few weeks ago and a cake to share with my gorgeous little boys.

What would you want from the Birthday Fairy?

Don't forget that the Rockin' the Baby linky is open thru tonight! Link up those cute baby pics! Tomorrow, I'll announce the four winners AND tell you what fun link-up I have in store for you next month!

Happy Birthday! This reminds me of the year I was so proud because I only had 5 things on my Christmas list: including a TV and a waterbed... easy peasy! :)

Now, I'm with you on the beach house and a husband...or a Manny, Maid and Boy Toy and Sugar Daddy... no problem, right? ;)

Ok throw in an iPad too. I have 2 months so I think that birthday fairy has plenty of time to get all of this together. =)

Happy, Happy Birthday, my darling friend!

I hope your day is filled with joy and I hope you get at least one thing on your list.

And you do not look your age, although I'd like to be your age again.

And I could just see you at your Malibu Barbie beach house with your pink golf cart and your blonde hair a-flowing, with a different pair of shoes for every day of the week.

For my birthday, I would wish for a dance with Bono, a best selling novel and of course, world peace. Oh, and the ability to eat as much chocolate as I want without gaining a pound.

I'll be 34 later this year as well! Happy happy day to you!

Before I got a whole new wardrobe, I think I would want some lipo and the girls put back where they're supposed to be. ;)

I too want a golf cart. I thought about a pink scooter, but realized I'd have to drag those kids with me too and so a golf cart would do it. :)

If only the birthday fairy were real...

All of my bills to be paid off. Two wardrobes, one for work and one for the rest of the time. A personal chef and trainer to keep me on target. A housekeeper. Someone to come in and force me to organize everything. New flooring in my living room. Gas prices to go down.

I could keep going, but I'll stop now.

Oh, you look great for your age. I'm a youthful 35. People used to tell me I looked young for my age until a couple years ago, then it just stopped...huh.

I would like an on-call nanny! Just for when I need to run and errand or take one kid to the doctor. Or for when I'm helping my daughter with reading and the baby need attention.

Can you tell I've thought about this! LOL

Happy birthday! I hope 34 is as good to you as it was to me!

Can the birthday fairy do a tummy tuck and boob lift without a costly, painful surgery? If so, order it up!

Happy Birthday!

I'd also like a beach house. Or a beach condo. Anything really by the beach.

A DSLR camera and a Kindle.

Whoops! For some reason I thought your birthday was today! So now I have to say Happy Belated Birthday! And I really hope you got an iPad...they are essential for mommies these days...of course for you, but they make great babysitters too when things get hairy which is again, for you! Hope you had a great one!

Happy (belated) Birthday! I'm 36 and also not afraid to share my age because I know I don't look it, even if I am starting to feel it. Bleh.

I'd love for the birthday fairy to give me an iPhone or iPad - really, either would do, as long as I had portable Internets.

I'd also like a beach house or a timeshare - someplace where I could just getaway from it all.

A new wardrobe would also be on my list - this one is attainable since I have a bunch of gift cards burning a hole in my wallet. But I need to find the time to shop - can the birthday fairy give me the gift of time?

And finally, I'd love for the birthday fairy to give me a new job, preferably in the field of writing, blogging, or social media.

Happy Birthday, lady! You deserve it all!!

The wardrobe thing, I am so with you on this! I'm really struggling. I would LOVE to hire a wardrobe consultant, they have one here who only works for about $200 and will go through your closet, put outfits together, and then make a list for you of things to get. And do your colors! It's my dream.
