Me Time Monday: Because We Need It!

To me, Mother's Day is a time to spend with my boys.  It's having those wild precious little boys that gives me something to celebrate on Mother's Day.

But, there are other times when OhDearLord, do I need some Me Time.

Grab a button...or two...

So, I'm joining in with Courtney at The Mommy Matters for Me Time Monday.

Last week was a bit crazy: we had just returned from a week away for Spring Break.  Getting back into the routine and playing catch up kept us busy. Add in work, a preschool field trip, housework, the gym, and all the typical mom stuff.

By Friday, I was starting to feel worn out. School drop-offs and then running around to get last minute items for my Bear's fifth birthday party the next day.  Getting my younger two to their grandma in the afternoon so that I could attend Monkey's kindergarten Mother's Day program.

And we had a long weekend ahead of us: a birthday party for Hubs's friend that night, Bear's birthday party on Saturday morning, and of course Mother's Day.

I caught sight of myself in the rearview mirror as I was driving and sighed.  I LOOKED tired.

My hair was a wreck. And trying to find time to wash, blowdry, and style my obnoxiously thick and unruly hair was going to be impossible. But, I was TIRED of looking tired.

So, my Me Time? I called my hairdresser to see if she could squeeze me in for a wash and blowout.

Totally self-indulgent. It was something just for me.

But, do you know what? It was worth it.

I was in and out of the salon in about a half hour, feeling much better about myself.

AND, I didn't have to fuss with my hair at all during our busy weekend. Don't worry, I still showered.  Shower caps are highly underrated.

I really need to remember to take more Me Time moments. What was your last Me Time moment?

You look great! I took some me time Saturday and went shopping just for myself. I had to force myself not to veer into Gymboree or Baby Gap and just shop for me. It was SO worth it.

Gorgeous!

We do need to take that time more. most of the time just an hour will do the trick, and we're better moms when we're done!

Have a fantastic day! :)

The last Me Time I had was the last time I grocery shopped by myself at Target ... sad, I know. I'm going away for a weekend in early June to visit my BFF and I AM PSYCHED!

Awesome hair!
I usually try to count my workouts as me time.
But Friday I may have sneaked home for thirty minutes of complete quiet at the house before the chaos of the weekend ensued.
It was awesome.

OOO Look at you sexy. I give my me time when I workout everyday. That hour to hour and a half is mine. Sam goes in her swing and I just focus on my workout. The rest of the day I watch her, work, do chores or watch her so hubby can rest/play video games from his 12 work day. I'm so drained lol. I love my me time.

guess that answers the "me time" question quite effectively.

You look fabulous. I don't even have a hairdresser. or manicurist, personal trainer, or massage therapist. I can push through feeling tired, but yeah, looking so tired all the time sucks.

I think the last 'me time' I had was about 8 months ago when I got a prenatal massage. These days the closest I get is stopping at Starbucks on the way to work occasionally instead of making coffee at home.

I had me time on Saturday- it was what I asked for for mother's day. Then on Sunday I celebrated the day with the reasons I am a mom.
And good for you- I never would have thought to go to a salon just for that.

hey gorgeous gal!!! You look great.

I took some time on Sat morning and got my hair cut and my brows waxed...(but I go to get my hair cut every 4 weeks or so, it's short and needs it)

I am also taking THURSDAY off this week, kids to school and me whereever I feel like going, I told John I'd have dinner for him waiting in the crock pot and I'll be home in the evening. I need a day to just go and do whatever I feel like doing. I can't wait.

so glad you did that for you....I can see how happy it made you.

Oh how I wish I could have someone do my hair for me.

Three times a week. That's all I ask.

Instead, I get it cut twice a year...but I also get to be a stay-at-home mom so the messy ponytail is worth the money saved.

(Still. I want your blow- out. It's gorgeous! I hope you had a beautiful Mother's Day!)

I can honestly say I don't remember the last time I had Me Time...although Tim did take the kids to the jumper house place for a couple hours on Mother's Day and I spent the day at home alone....doing laundry and mopping the floor. Not really me time but no one else was gonna do it so I figured why not...I really need to learn how to relax!
