Here in NC, once it's March, it's usually spring weather. My boys went to school in shorts and short sleeved shirts the other day. It's warm!
Sometimes cliches are cliches for a reason: with the start of Spring, I look to new beginnings.
What I want to do, what I want to change, what I have to look forward to.
A time to think about what in my life is good and to give thanks for those things and those people.
But, it's also a time to look at the things in my life that I could get rid of. A spring cleaning of a different kind.
Things that take up too much time that don't really serve any purpose, things that drain me, frustrate me, piss me off: out you go!
It's time to get rid of the negative. Because I'm looking towards the spring, towards a new direction.
And I'm excited about it!

Oh I so needed to read this today... got an email last night from someone with whom I do not like to deal... it's never positive... I can't NOT communicate, but I have to work to keep it positive on my end! My kids were in shorts earlier in the week too!
What an appropriate post. I had a lot of things go down yesterday that caused me to have a very negative attitude. I need to just get rid of it and let it go. Thanks for talking to ME today!
Has it really been a year already??? Wow time flies. Get rid of the negative for sure. I did yesterday. Come by and see...it's a doozy!

I just went through all my facebook "friends" and deleted a bunch of people who I wasn't really friends (or family) with. Like high school people.
I was just looking online trying to find somewhere that is halfway between us - maybe for a weekend getaway sometime?

I am definitely ready for some spring cleaning myself! Spring always feels like a fresh start to me!
Yesterday I unsubscribed from an e-newsletter that would make me mad every time I received it. For months, I've been getting angry every time I see it in my inbox. But I know the person who writes it, so I didn't want to hurt their feelings. For some reason, yesterday I finally figured out that life is too short to invite that kind of anger into my life. So I clicked unsubscribe. Boy, did that feel good! Now maybe I'll cull a few people from my blog reader (not you!) and my FB account too. All in the name of new directions.
I think that is why yard sales pick up in the spring. I am ready to open windows and clear out clutter. clothes and just stuff that we had to have and now sits lonesome and ignored on a shelf somewhere.. definitely time for new directions..
I am looking forward to spring for those every same reasons but it will be a couple months before spring will start here.

Oh, how I wish it were almost spring here, but in Wyoming, March is probably the snowiest month of the year! But that doesn't mean I can't start looking forward (though maybe not the spring cleaning just yet! Ha!). Enjoy the warm weather! :)
Good for you! I love Spring! It is so beautiful in North Carolina. We already have daffodils blooming all around and I can't get my youngest to stop picking them....He brought some home from a neighbor's yard yesterday. I was all, "OMG! Did anybody see you?!"

I can't wait for it to warm up enough here to wear shorts. Maybe this will be the year I finally find some that fit me like they're supposed to.

I actually need to tackle the clutter in my house that's weighing me down. Time to organize. Sigh.
I love this post and you know I wish I could have this attitude and STICK TO IT! This having trouble getting pregnant thing really takes a toll on me and my friends and family. I wish I could just let go but I just don't know how. You have the right idea about looking towards a new attitude! Maybe I should follow suit!
For me, spring means having a garage sale and getting rid of as much clutter and junk as possible. Now I only have three weeks to get everything together.
I love this. You gave me a lot to think about. Maybe it is not my house that needs decluttering. Perhaps it in me.
Spring really is the best for a good cleansing, whatever kind it is that you need!

First of all, I'm completely envious of the weather you are having. Still snowing over here. I too always feel that sense of new possibility at the first hint of spring!
I won't have this feeling until close to May; the crap weather holds on for so long here and I am still in the duldroms for a bit. :)
Spring is a better new beginning for me that Jan 1. As the weather improves I start to get motivation that I just can't muster in the winter.

A little personal spring cleaning...yeah, I could go for that.
I am going to get rid of STUFF - there is too much STUFF in my house. Taking up space, serving no purpose. :) EBay and CraigsList and DAV are in my future.
Oh man! I wish spring meant warmer weather here. Spring in SD means snow, snow and more snow. We get spring blizzards every year. NO FUN!! We don't get to spring clean until May or even June. :( BUT, i feel the same way about Spring...breathing in that fresh air, cleaning things out, and starting things anew. But this year...spring means just one step closer to daddy leaving....and I'm really struggling with it. I try to block it our, ignore the reality of the deployment, and not talk about it...but my insides feel fragile and vulnerable. It sucks!

Spring really does bring out that need for new, I love it! Getting rid of negative is a great way to start! We aren't ready for spring yet, snow is expected Friday. But it's good to start preparing! Good luck to your "spring" clearing of negativity.

Oh yes, I'm so thankful for a new month, and a new season.
As I wrote yesterday- May this month be a waking of anything within us that needs to be roused from it's deep slumber; a casting off of all that has been cold, and usher in renewal, and new growth.

That is what I love about Spring...the mood it puts me in to just get rid of stuff!
I feel the same way! It's Spring Cleaning time and not just the house. It's time to reevaluate life and what needs to go.
I think it's good to pitch stuff it leaves a person feeling renewed.

I love this time of year for many of the same reasons you do. There's something about the changing of the seasons (especially after experiencing such a long winter!) that excites me and reminds me of what's still to come. Time for change. Time for new beginnings.
