Dear Daddy: When Mama's Away...

Only Parent Chronicles

Huge thanks to my Blissdom sponsor LeadCheck for sending me to the conference this week.

And thanks to Fresh Produce for sending me an outfit to wear, too: they have an all-new spring look for 2011 with refreshed styles, prints, textures, and looks.

Okay, wouldn't you just be beside yourself if he actually accomplished the potty training? A new respect, right?

It's hard to know they won't do it "My way" when we are gone. It would be easier if our dhs did it "my way", but they tend to make it much more difficult on themselves. Most important, they'll all survive you being gone.

Enjoy yourself.

Wow. Can you imagine if the potty training were done?

My husband is gone a lot in the spring, but I LOVE it when he give me little parenting tips like he did over the weekend.
"If you just shut all the doors they will just play downstairs while you watch TV."

Why didn't I think of that?

I lol-ed at the one about sending the kids to his moms. My DH would TOTALLY do that, 100%, if I left the kids home with him for a weekend or whatever. I'd come home and say "how was your weekend?" and he'd be like "great, the kids had a ball at my mom's."

I'm sure everyone will come out alive, but it would be much better if our men did things our way while we're gone. It would be awesome if the youngest came out potty trained by the time you return, too!

I hope you have a great time!

Isn't it funny how know matter how much we will ourselves not to worry, we will?? And when the husbands go away, you KNOW they don't worry about us getting it all done??

Try not to worry...and enjoy yourself!

Have fun Shell and enjoy the time away. I get to go to a work convention at the end of April and I can't wait to have some Jayme time. I am the one that gets the kids ready in the morning and has to worry about getting the two kids plus myself out the door in a timely manner. By the time we are leaving in the morning the hubs has already been gone for a while. Also my mom has promised to help, but only the bare minimum. We are going to show him what it is really like!

Hahahahaha!!! My hubby is the same...I have to leave him notes and reminders. I, however, NEVER get to leave. He complains when I have my hair appointment (I only go every 3-4 months!!). I would love to have a weekend...a little reality-check for daddy. I don't think you can truly appreciate ALL that we do, until you wear are shoes (and I think it should be heels)!!!

You are right, they don't worry if we are getting stuff done so we should not worry either. I think of your whole family your husband will be the most happy when you are back :)

I love the "can't just tell them to get ready" post it. We have that problem all the time, have to check and re-check in with the kids. They think we are nagging...then we find that they stopped getting ready so they could play with the dog or look at a book they found on the floor or...

If he was to potty train the youngest while you are gone...I think he would get some kind of dad award that proclaims him the best dad ever. Thankfully there is not much chance of him doing that, so you don't have to worry about him getting a big head.

Hope you are having a blast!! (and only slightly-hugely jealous!)
