Pretending It's Friday. Yes, I Live in Denial

Because, you see, I have some things I need to flip off. So, I'm doing it even though it's only Thursday. Momma Kiss hosts Friday Flip-offs. I love her so much. Seriously, Hubs doesn't ever have to worry about me running off with another guy(except maybe Joshua Jackson or Vin Diesel or maybe Fabio from Top Chef), but I might just run off with MK for a weekend sometime to escape the madness.

I'm flipping off Bear's Music Teacher. Now, Bear LOVES music and the best thing about his preschool is that he has music class every day. That boy loves to sing and dance.

But, yesterday, when I was dropping him off at preschool, it was his music teacher who got him out of the van. She said to "him" because I know she was just trying to say it loud enough for me to hear and no one says this sort of thing to a 4 year-old: "Oh, (Bear), you can't wear such a thin jacket. It's too cold. You need to wear a winter jacket or you will freeze."

Well, Miss Music Teacher, if you had LOOKED, you would have realized that no, his jacket is not one of those huge puffy jackets that seem to run rampant in preschool. But, it IS heavily insulated and lined with a thick layer of fleece.  It IS a winter jacket. So, flip-off, lady.

Next, a flip-off to my parents for visiting for the next two days instead of over the weekend or next week when it would work out so much better for my family. I'm sure if I was writing this later today I'd have a lot more to flip-off where they are concerned, but I'm trying to stay positive...sort of.

And a HUGE flip-off to the weather here. We very rarely get snow here in eastern NC and when we do, it shuts everything down. Please weather, do NOT strand my parents here. Two days is all I can take.

Another flip-off to everything that has been keeping me busy this week so that I couldn't make the blog rounds like I wanted to. I'll be around soon.

Until then: send wine.

Oh, Please, can we run away together? Like RIGHT NOW? I promise to share my momma...she's a fab baker and great baby sitter. But let's go south b/c it's fekkin cold up here! South like Antigua.

You know that teacher was saying that shit loudly so that you'd hear her. Double Fingers to her.

Weather's tripping me up too! And you know I can relate to the whole parent-visit thing.

We can have a virtual glass together later!

If the music teacher had an issue, she should have talked to you, not your son. I hate when people do that!

My cousins live in Tennessee and they shut everything down for an inch of snow. Being from up north, the love it, but I hope that's not the case for you.

Seriously, stock up on that wine!! Just in case.

By the way I am flippin' off the music teacher too to help you out. "Mind your business, lady!"

I have lots of wine! I would love to send you some if I could! The hubs is a wine rep. And that music teacher needs a big glass of shut the hell up!

I hope that the weather cooperates for you over the next couple of days. We have a decent amount of snow here in Toledo and it is bone chilling cold too! No fun at all.

That teacher needs a big flip off, sending her one also. I hope there is no snow so you only have a two day visit.

Um, music teacher? STFU already. Some people know how to care for their children - but thanks anyway for your poorly-disguised criticism. Flip off.

Anyway, sending lots of wine your way. And praying that the weather doesn't mess with you too much. Hang in there.

Gosh, sometimes I really miss my flip-offs. They are in good hands with Momma, though. :)

May I make a suggestion? Target boxed wine. I'm not kidding. I thought I was a wine snob. Then parenthood increased my drinking (which helps to maintain my sanity). Soooo ... you can find it on sale for $16 and it's equal to about 4 bottles of wine. Not the best ever, but pretty good in my opinion. Trust me ... being able to afford enough wine to survive a visit from you parents is pretty much as important as the wine itself. Good luck :)

and I get frustrated with Bubby's teachers. Our kids line up outside (which doesn't really matter, even if it were inside, you have to walk across the parking lot to the school). One girl shows up daily at schools with a jacket/coat of any kind. She will be wearing a dress, tights and a long sleeve shirt. The past few days the temps were in the single digits with sub-zero wind chills. We are talking an average child either. We are talking about a girl who probably doesn't reach the 25 percentile on the charts for her age.

so can we flip off the parents for not making her wear any winter outwear(and I am almost she can afford it, the girl wears designers dresses)????

and can we flip off the teachers for not requiring the parents to protect their child???

First, I also love MK. Can I join you when you run away together? And very very south?

Next, I love the boxed wine suggestion. Wine solves many problems. Or at least dulls the mind so you don't give a crap.

Screw you music teacher. Passive aggressive much?

Drink lots of wine and stay sane!!

I must admit to being jealous of all the snow you Southerners have been getting.

And Bear's music teacher? Nuh uh! A friend had a Wal-Mart employee tell her boys that Santa doesn't bring guns. Her response, "In our house, Santa brings guns and ammo."

How about wine and chocolate?

BIG flip-off!! And I'll add my daughter's teacher for telling us that there are worse students in her class academically than our daughter, like that means we shouldn't worry... Now I feel better! Thanks!!

And the other one? Toxic people are tough to be around. I have one, err, two err, three, err... But love keeps no record of wrongs – so check that – I have none :)

Lastly, I’ll send cheese, looks like you have enough wine coming, and chocolate – can never have enough chocolate.

Thank You Shell
