What's Sexy About That?

When Hubs and I were first married, I loved to shop for pretty things. You know, the kind that only he would see.

And then came the days of maternity underpants. Seriously scary.

And then I went for comfort.

Well, what's sexy about that?

Now, I don't think that I could ever go for uncomfortable, but it would be okay to bring a little Mom Sexy back. Don't forget about The Mommyologist's revolution!

Now, Hubs doesn't complain, but I can bet you that he definitely wouldn't be complaining if I broke out some sexy lingerie.

And it's such a little thing to do for him. You know I've talked before how important it is to keep up your sex life with your husband, even though you are tired and feel like a worn-out mom instead of like a sexy wife. So, when this lingerie site was pointed out to me, I thought I'd take a look and tell you about it, too. Most of my reviews will be on my other blog, but since I wanted to talk a little more about this than just telling you about the site, I put it here. And I do have some lingerie being sent to me from this company. *Shrugs.*

Now, if you are like me, you might hear the word "Playboy" and cringe a little. But, it is the 50th anniversary of Playboy and if you take a look at what it originally was- it was about glamour.  A pretty face and a cute outfit. I like that. Old-school glamour. There's a collection of Playboy panties and other Playboy lingerie that you can take a look at.

Is it TMI if I said Hubs would think he'd died and gone to heaven if I dressed like an old-school bunny? Not that I'd admit it or ever show pics of that. ;)

So, after looking at those sites and thinking about just how different sexy is now than it was as a newlywed, well, I think maybe I might try to make a little more of an effort.

What do you do to try to keep that newlywed spark alive?

Wow, this was a good post for me because I have recently started rethinking sexy for my hubby. Of course a change happened when I became a mom but another change happened when I got ill. I never tried to look sexy for him, I mean after all I spent all day in bed. A few weeks ago I realized that what I was doing was wrong. I started buying sexier bras and panties, sorry if tmi. and I even bought some sexier nightwear just so he knew I was thinking about him and want to look my best for him. In all honesty and this really might be tmi our sex life has never been better, it is even better than our honeymoon period. I think a lot of it has to do with state of mind.

I am still searching for the answer but I know little things like that totally help. My hubby would die too. LOL! There are so many ways to keep the spark alive!

Wow, I am cracking up right now. I clicked the lingerie links and they were blocked by the hotel's server! LOL! I copied and pasted what it said:

"Access to this URL is currently restricted due to possible malicious or damaging content.

URL: http://www.lingerie.com/
Rule: Block URLs of type Pornography"

LMAO!!!

This is too crazy. Just last week I was talking to my girlfriends and we somehow got to talking about panties. They could not BELIEVE that I would only buy mine in a package of 6! :-D So since then I've been thinking about trying to get some cuter ones to a) *feel* sexier for myself and b) *be* sexier for The Husband. :-)

You know its funny... My husband does not care about lingerie or sexy unders, or nice bras... All that stuff just gets in the way apparently... lol

He is totally fine with me just being in a TShirt. He's weird.

But I loke sexy unders! They make me feel pretty.

I haven't worn lingerie in forever! So long, in fact, that if I suddenly started wearing some, Tim would suspect I was having an affair!

Does flannel pajama bottoms and an oversized t-shirt count as sexy, cause that's what I am wearing right now...lol

Ok, you talked me into going and buying some cute "something". Its our anniversary on Sunday...won't he be in shock?...lol

Newlywed spark? I hardly remember what that is! Honestly, I think it is tough for anyone with kids to really feel like newlyweds again. I think that you become two totally different people after having kids and just can't ever quite get that spark back. I mean, you still love each other and all, but it just isn't the same as when you had nothing to worry about but each other. Maybe when the kids go off to college people get it back? Although there are those parents out there who like to brag about doing it nine times a week, and for the record, I'm not buying it. Who has that kind of time?

I think we have a rather healthy bedroom life. We're still madly attracted to each other, with or without the butt floss undies ;)

We definitely work hard to keep our bodies in decent shape, as that's important to both of us. Physical attraction is still a priority. I actually think that the comfort we've developed with each other is pretty sexy. The idea that we can be whoever we really are around each other, without me having to worry about wearing makeup or doing my hair.

Sometimes I'll look at the more avant garde underwear in my VS catalog and I can't image shoving a leather strap up my ha-ha for the sake of "sexy."

However, putting something pretty on every once in a while sounds totally doable!

I love lingerie because it makes me feel pretty. My husband like it, too for his own reasons - lol!

I'm not sure if you can fully return to the newlywed sparks, but you can definitely do things to create new sparks as a relationship goes on.

well let me just say sexy is on the inside not the outside, but changing it up and being mysterious is srexy so if that means lingerie go for it. i have tons and i wear it occasionally, but it doesn't stay on long! you can wear cute panties, without sacraficing comfort. as for my hubby, he could care less, he just likes adventure in the bedroom. (i'll leave it at that)

This is just the post I needed today...So glad I came across your blog!! :-D Def. not TMI...my hubs would, too...Since our 2nd baby has been born, sex life has been...well, diff.!! Mainly because I'm deathly afraid of getting pregnant now!! I know I need to make more of an effort, too...he's feeling neglected a bit...The newlywed spark lasted up until baby...now it's time to rekindle!! :o)

Ummmm..... I have no children, and I go for comfort. This post has inspired me to do something about this. I used to work at Vickies and had drawers full of employee- discounted product. Haven't bothered since. My poor husband.....

Ready for the guys point of view?

No?

Well too bad. I think that any effort made in this arena is awesome. Aside from manscaping what else can the dude do? I'm not talking about the act itself. Keep it up and the guy will "keep it up".

the bunny costume would be versatile- you could wear it next Easter for your kids, too.

With the good weather around here, I've been finally getting back into a full on running routine. It feels great, I'm getting stronger and more muscular and I certainly feel more sexy when I do it- and when that attitude about myself comes back, Champ's a happy man ;)

I'm thinking there's some kind of middle ground between what's comfortable and therefore ugly and what's sexy and therefore uncomfortable. Right? Right?

I'm so guilty of not being "sexy" for the hubs. I feel so bad sometimes but a good majority of the time I just don't feel that way. I do know though that I need to suck it up and do "something" nice for him every once in a while!

I'm with you on keeping marriage hot! DH and I are pretty playful and so the sexiest thing we do is DATE each other. Now we mostly do in-home dates (a sexy specialty) that include body painting, spy school, tickle challenges .... I love dating my hubby and it keeps our marriage sexy, spicy, and fun!

I will say DH would rather me be in spanks and a sports bra than sexy lingerie (thank God).

ahhhh!!!! have totally been trying to bring "mommy" sexy back. am i the only person who has a husband who says "i think you're sexy and that's all that should matter." ?? this is NOT what i want to hear. i mean i do, but it doesn't help.

then who's opinion matters? our own? cuz i don't know about you, but i'm not the kind of person to go into victoria's secret (or anywhere else) and start pulling lingerie off the racks to try it on. and IF i did, (like for our wedding), i don't think anything looks good.... soooo, i kinda get stuck.... i think i feel my sexiest after a shower, hair done, make up on, and some jean shorts, flip flops and a cute tank top with a tan. i'm sure that's not really sexy, but that's when i FEEL my best.... (and of course with shaved legs).... i think my level of confidence is much higher when I FEEL good, rather than when i'm trying to be sexy for him... i don't know. this probably isn't even making sense anymore.... im glad you brought this up. =) i think we should definitely continue to think about being sexy to our husbands....

My hubby likes sporty undies and clothes.
He's never been a lacy or frilly type of guy.
I think I'm lucky since I can pull off sporty without feeling to self conscious..

I have a whole drawer full of lingerie that I wore before the babies. Now I refuse to wear them because I dont like how they look. My husband is always hinting at how he would like me to wear them again. I am in the process of losing the baby weight, and then I'll be more than happy to wear the sexy things!

Hubs keeps begging me to buy lingerie....and I keep saying "what is the point, you take it off in 5 seconds anyways!!" However, I really should get some but I have trouble seeing myself as "sexy". Think stretch marks and sagging belly skin! UGH. Maybe I'll have to take a look at the website!
