I'm Tickled Pink!

I get to be all girly today and say that "I'm Tickled Pink."

Girly is my nature, you know. But, being an all-boy mama means that the girly is buried somewhere under dirt, trucks, and footballs.

My friend Holly, at 504 Main, has this really sweet meme about things that tickle you pink: cool products, ideas, recipes, writings, bloggers, etc. No, no one is giving me anything to say any of this, I just want to share these things with you.

Okay, actually, it's a FRIDAY meme and it's only THURSDAY, so her new one won't be up until tomorrow...but I think she'll forgive me, just this once.

This week, I'm tickled pink by:
-a blogger
-a picture
-a tutu
-a party
-some caring people
and
-a contest

I’m Tickled Pink at 504 Main
I'm actually putting Holly's blog first on my list of things that I'm Tickled Pink by. Because she's a total doll. I love her blog. If you haven't met her yet, you are totally missing out. Please go over and show her some love. Um, after you read my post, please. And don't forget that you can join in with her on Fridays and share what you are Tickled Pink about.

Now, take a look at this pic:

Gorgeous, right? Steph at A Grande Life takes the most amazing pics. I'm always in awe of them. She's a photographer in the Philly area, if you are nearby. ;) You can check out her photo site, too. I'm hoping to be in Pittsburgh at the same time that she is visiting there so that I can meet her and have her take some family pics.

Another reason I'm Tickled Pink by Steph is that she had an "honor" last week that would have given much traffic to her blog, but she said she didn't want it because it didn't sit right with her. Now, a lot of people would have just kept their mouth shut and enjoyed the spotlight, but not my girl Steph. So, let's show her our support! :)

I'm Tickled Pink by this tutu.

I know, I just have boys so I shouldn't drool over such girly cuteness. But, you know, I have nieces.

Messy Mommy makes these and even donated one for Mission Monkey. If you want to order one, they are $15 and you can contact her at aliasblogger at yahoo dot com.

I'm Tickled Pink that I get to host a Shrek Party this weekend. I applied at HouseParty, was accepted, and was sent all sorts of goodies from McDonalds and the new Shrek movie.

I'm not obligated to blog about this, but I wanted to tell you about it in case you didn't know about it. They have all sorts of parties that you can apply for and if you are accepted, they send you a party kit to help with your party. It's a great excuse to have a party!

P.S. I'm so not Tickled Pink by the mom who replied to my invite by saying "**** doesn't think that Shrek is appropriate for kids, but the rest of you have fun." Lady, it's just decorations. And McD's food. Lighten up.

I'm Tickled Pink by the blogfia, created by my friend Princess of Sarcasm.

The way that the blog world can come together to help each other when one of our own is in need is amazing. Whether it is praying, or sending emails on behalf of a cause, or raising money to help a cause like Mission Monkey. When we band together, we make a difference.

Btw, my friend Casey at If the Crown Fits is asking for some prayers today, so Blogfia, you know what to do.

Aw, look at this pic of me from last week aren't I skinny over 7 years ago when Hubs and I decided to get a cute little kitten, whom we called Sophie but whose full name was Princess Sophia(quick someone tell me what that is a reference to and if you laugh at that as much as we do)

Finally, I'm Tickled Pink to be hosting a Cutest Pet Pic Contest with Supah and Chief next week, sponsored by Tooth Soap®!

Please go show some love to these links!

Yes, I totally check to see if anyone listens to me. And hope to see some of you start following Holly and Steph or hear that you ordered a tutu or that you are praying for one of our own or hear about the House Party that you get to host!

I know, I'm totally neurotic that way.

WHAT TICKLES YOU PINK?

Wait...since when is SHREK not appropriate for kids?! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Did you tell her to go watch some more documentaries?

Ok I can actually get the parent who doesn't like Shrek. There are quite a few adult conversations that occur, and can be funy to adults but if your kid catches it leaves you explaining stuff you weren't prepared to. But I agree it's a party not the movie. That tutu is tutu cute HA...
as the official prayer warrior for the blogfia oh yeah and the strongarm for my vlogs lol..will go check Casey out and see what is up...

ick, PINK

actually a cute Meme

Am I invited the party with my kids?

Sherk is not like any of the other "kids" shows coming out by places like Disney, Dreamworks, ect. They have adult content, that flies over the kids head. I think it's great, makes watching the shows with the kids so much easier.

So, Shrek totally created a conversation I wasn't prepared for. My oldest was 3, maybe 4, and the kids were singing songs from the karaoke dance party. You know, where the characters do "Baby Got Back"? Yep. So, the kids are singing, we're all in the car heading to my dads, and from the back seat I get "Mom? What's 'sprung' mean?"
I believe my husband shot Coke out his nose when he laughed.
(I went with "It means really excited, the way it's used in the song.")
All that said, we love us some Shrek. The adult humor is what makes it palatable for us grown ups!

I think you should get yourself a tutu, one for each leg. Because lord knows that if I had a child sized tutu all they would fit would be my lower leg.
Also can you please explain WHY Shrek isn't appro for kids?

I think that some of these kids movies might need a tad bit more "mommy/daddy" content. Some of them just bore me to tears.

I closed my eyes and 'jumped' straight to the comment form so I could ask if it's How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days? Love that movie, I'll watch it no matter what part it's on if I find it on TV! :-)

Ohmyword, I want a cat sooooo bad, can't wait to see what this contest is about! :-)

You know, a TON of movies can be considered inappropriate, it just matters how you spin them to your kids -- you know, find TEACHABLE MOMENTS. It's big green ogres, not real life. *sigh*
