Heart of Haiti

It's been almost a year since a devastating earthquake hit Haiti. The aftereffects of the earthquake has made it almost impossible for Haitians to make a living.

This is where the Heart of Haiti project comes in.  Through a partnership with Macy's, Heart of Haiti offers artisan crafted decorative arts and jewelry for sale. All income from the sales goes enhances an artisan's family’s nutrition, educates children, and brings access to healthcare and dignity.

Take a look at some of the products that Haitians continue to make, in spite of the earthquake: they use raw materials like recycled oil drums, wrought iron, and stone to create art.

You can check out all the products HERE and support the project by making a purchase.

I was selected for this very special “CleverHaiti” opportunity by Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity. All opinions are my own.

Hi, I am sorry to say that I contacted Macy's to participate (we represent some women's crafts in Leoganne) and no one ever responded. They pushed me off to an NGO and after several attempts I gave up. Why wouldn't they call back and let other artists participate? Maybe you can help?

I think a lot of people, myself included have forgotten this tragedy has happened just a short year ago. They still need our help. Thank you for contributing to creating awareness ;)
