Type A Mom

Am I a Type A Mom?

Well, probably definitely not. But, shhhhhhhhh, let's keep that between us. Do they kick you out of the Type A Mom Conference for that? I really hope not! Because I'm going!

September 24-26 in Asheville, NC. Even though it's still probably a five hour hike for me to get there, it's in my state, so it makes it seem like it's close.

I'm really excited to hear the speakers, learn some more about blogging, and to meet the other bloggers who will be there!

When I first heard about it, I knew I'd love to go. But, since it is for the whole weekend and being that far from home, I'd have to pay not only for my ticket, but my hotel room, food, and gas. I could come up with some of it, but not all- you know our economy, I'm a stay-at-home mom, plus we took a pretty serious hit when my middle son was so sick last year. Not saying this for pity- it's just life, you know? So, I almost shrugged it off as something that wasn't going to happen.

But, I'd heard about personal sponsorships and bloggers who were able to get them for conferences, so I asked around about how to do that.

What I learned was that it's best to ask a company that you have already worked with. That you should actually love the product and the company, so that you feel comfortable promoting them in whatever ways that you are allowed by the conference's guidelines.

After giving it some thought, I decided to approach the owner of Tooth Soap® about the possibility of sponsoring me for the conference.

I'm  a total Tooth Soap ® convert- no more toothpaste for us! So, I knew that it would be easy for me to talk about the fabulous product from my sponsor and be genuine about it. You should have seen Hubs's face when we had run out of Tooth Soap ® and he had to use toothpaste for two days until our new order came in- it was hilarious how grossed out he was by the toothpaste after months of using Tooth Soap ®.  Our kids use it, too- and because it's all-natural and non-toxic, I don't have to stress out if they don't spit it all out.

As for the owner herself, Karen is a such a caring person. She's generously donated to help Jaden and Mission Monkey(you can find buttons for both of these sweethearts in my sidebar).

Plus, you have to admire her for starting her company at her kitchen table, with just $100 and an idea.

So, a product I love, coming from a company with such a great owner- well, that was my first choice of someone to work with!

I pitched Karen, crossed my fingers, held my breath, and now I can say that I am:

Photobucket

Thank you so much to Tooth Soap ® for sponsoring me! If you having been living under a rock and haven't heard of them, be sure to check them out! You will love it!

And pssssst: if you use the coupon code *July* when you check out, you can get 45% off your order right now!

Good for you! I'm so glad it worked out. I have never heard of tooth soap, but I am going to have to check it out. I would love to start going to all the conferences that are out there, but for now it is still unrealistic. I will just live vicariously through you. I hope you have a great time!

Shell! I'm soooo excited for you - and maybe next year I'll even try to "pitch" a company :)

I can't wait to hear about your adventures - I'm sure you will have lots of good advice and stories to share when you get back.

Going to check out Tooth Soap - never heard of it before, but it is intriguing :)
