I Panic and Practically Spout Poetry

I had a motherbitches post all planned for you today. I really wanted to tell you the rest of the story that I hinted at on one of my post-its yesterday.

I think it will make you laugh and roll your eyes.

But, I guess Wednesday is rapidly becoming my day when I'm actually serious for once and pour my heart out to you. Last week, it was about Bear's struggles.

This week.....

Yesterday afternoon, my phone rang.

It was Hubs, telling me that he had been in a car accident.

He was driving home from Raleigh, about 2 hours or so away from here.

He was on a major highway(40 for any of you familiar with the area), when he started to slide.

The truck started to spin out.

If he hadn't somehow managed to gain a little bit of control, he would have spun out into oncoming traffic.

As it was, the truck spun around more times than he could count.

He said he felt like it was going to flip.

Somehow, there wasn't much traffic around him and what there was managed to avoid him.

The truck went off the side of the road and down an embankment, where it slammed into several trees.

All of the windows shattered.

The truck could have kept going down the hill and probably flipped, but was stopped by the trees.

The truck is totalled.

Hubs, though, is fine.

He's a little sore and I'm sure he will be feeling even more sore when he wakes up this morning.

But, he's fine.

Monday is our seven year wedding anniversary. I have engagement pics in this post to share with you. Weren't we just so cute?
Seven years.

We've had our ups and downs.

If you would have asked us both around the 2 year mark how long we thought we'd make it, the answer probably would have been: probably not until 3 years, unless the divorce papers haven't quite gone through yet.

So, I do mean ups and DOWNS.

Somewhere along the line, we grew the hell up and realized what it takes to make a marriage work.

And we have no doubts that we'll be together forever.

But, one phone call is all it takes to remind you that sometimes "forever" might not be as long as you think.

Go show your husband, your wife, your kids, your whoever-means-a-lot-to-you some love today.

Photobucket
We will be back to our regularly scheduled programing tomorrow, as well as the dance-off on Friday.

And I won't forget about the motherbitch story.

Oh my goodness! Thank GOD he's ok! Wishing you both a quick recovery (emotionally and physically) from this. Can't wait to hear the other story, when you get the time. Take care until then.

It's true, forever isn't infinite in our lives and we take that for granted.

I have my own story that proved that too me. I real eye opener.

I am glad he is okay, hope he isn't too sore. Hoping you manage to find some time to get some rest yourself.

So glad your husband is okay. One of my blog friends here in MI is a girl who lost her husband 18 months ago, he dropped dead at work. A few days/weeks later she also lost the baby she was carrying. Her story is always a great reminder to me of how precious life truly is.

Happy Anniversary to you and your husband! I have been married 7 years too:)

So glad he wasn't hurt. By the way you describe it, the accident could have been COMPLETE mayhem. It's scary to think how life can change so quickly, isn't it?

Wow... he is one lucky guy... must be SOMEONE knew all he had to go home to. Also, the first 2 years? Totally suck, and they should tell you that in premarital classes. Just saying.

Oh I'm so glad he's ok!! Stuff like that always freaks me out. I had those same feelings when I got the call 2 weeks ago that hubby was in the hospital. It became a huge reminder to not ever take anything for granted!

And Happy Anniversary!! That's so great! Hubby & I just celebrated our 6th in December

Oh sweetie you made my heart drop when I started to read this post! I'm so glad he's just sore!

We so are on the same time line, Rick and I would be 7 years this July. Same thing 2 years into bad things happened and you wouldn't get me to even think of the future. But life and another baby made me rethink :).

Hugs!

Wow, what a scary thing to happen, Shell. I'm so glad Hubs wasn't badly hurt and that you can still enjoy your 7th anniversary together. I'm gonna go give the wife a hug and kiss right now.

Nothing like a close call to bring you closer! Thank goodness he came out physically unscathed!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I can tell you and I are going to be great friends - mainly cause I'm totally entralled by your motherbitching!

OMG, if we weren't totally gross and seperated at birth already, my seven year is coming up in May. Weird! Have fun at boot camp.

I am totally bawling like a baby now. My heart stopped. Honey? He has a guardian angel looking out for him.

And your pictures? Beautiful.

Happy early anniversary. And can I totally get it about not thinking you'd last until year three.

So happy that we have all made it work. I heart you friend. And tell the husband I hope he feels better soon.

xoxo

Heyyyy, your marriage sounds a bit like mine! We'll be seven years this June, and we also got married on the beach. And we also came THISCLOSE to the D word.
I am so glad your hubby's okay after that freaky accident!
